meetCUTE
22-23
‘meetCUTE’ explores power and pleasure in media, communication, and entertainment. The industry intertwines these elements, influencing social and political agendas. Historically, future projections in mainstream media have been shaped by those with power and privilege, determining which stories are told. How are these influences experienced in our environments and emotions.
Through research, critique, and design, meetCUTE deconstructs and reimagines spatial trends in media and entertainment, employing speculative methodologies like worldbuilding and design fiction. Using Mediated Sites as catalysts, students develop fictional futures, addressing today's complex questions through the lens of tomorrow.
