The research is an exploration into human and non-human connections through the lens of astrology.
Film Logline: In a society where natal charts are embedded in birth certificates and shape how people understand personality and relationships, a stray kitten is mistakenly registered with the same birth time as a young girl. As the kitten grows, the girl realizes its behavior doesn’t match the chart everyone trusts. Her curiosity leads her to question the system itself, uncovering flaws no one else sees—and, ultimately, the kitten’s true story and a deeper truth about their world.
03. Material Economies: Investigating cycles of production, trade, and the cultural significance of goods.
Project Description:
Using astrology as a medium, this project challenges the anthropocentric cognitive paradigm and proposes the “astrological chart identity system” as an infrastructure for cross-species connection. Through fictional policies [mandatory registration of birth charts of all people and animals], narrative experiments [astrolabe mis-recording of stray cats], and technological experiments [Blender+AI animation], a multi-dimensional research framework is constructed:
[1] Data ethics: exploring the impact of digitising biological identity on privacy and equality;
[2] Eco-philosophy: deconstructing the power relationship between humans and non-humans using the astrolabe as a symbol;
[3] Social Design: to provide institutional prototypes for multi-species symbiosis in future cities through policy extrapolation. The project aims to go beyond the instrumental application of astrology and transform it into a critical research lens to promote public participation in bioethical debates and provide an alternative imagination for ecological governance in the context of the climate crisis - a planetary symbiosis protocol based on empathy rather than exploitation.
